Grow Center Assistants
PB & Jack is a small business catering to adults, teenagers, young children and their families. Our facilities include an indoor grow room center filled with plants (dedicated to all ages), a coffee shop and two classrooms.
We are looking for punctual and reliable employees with a love for growing plants, along with teaching and playing with children and the patience to provide a nurturing, supportive, fun, and safe environment for them. Successful candidates will be team players willing to share in the adventure of a small business.
For our play area, we are looking for Grow Center Assistants, full-time or part-time.
Responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining a fun and safe environment for all visitors in the grow center
- Organizing plant science educational presentations within the facility (grow center or classrooms)
- Organizing and hosting birthday parties onsite
- Keeping the facility clean, along with water plants, care, ect.
We are looking for employees with the following attributes:
- Plant care or nursery experience for seedling plants
- Energetic and passionate about indoor gardening
- Positive attitude and outgoing personality
- Punctual
- Reliable
- Detail oriented
- Excellent presentation
- Pediatric first aid/CPR certified or willing to obtain certification
- Early education schooling a plus
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekend hours

Assistant Manager
We are an indoor grow room center for all ages located in Fairfax, offering education and activities for young children and their parents. We are looking to expand our team to include a new part-time or full-time assistant manager, with the possibility to get promoted to manager in a short time frame for the right candidate. Candidates will need to be available to work weekends and have some flexibility with their schedule.
Responsibilities will include:
- Assist manager in providing high quality customer experience, for both adults and children
- Insuring facility is customer friendly, clean and safe
- Opening and closing store procedures
- Overseeing daily activities run by our staff
- Assisting manager in staff management
- Assisting manager in handling any emergency or unexpected situation
- Creating excellent contact with all customers
- Modeling and conveying company mission and values
- Learning to work all different work positions, and willing to pitch in as needed
Experience and skills required:
- Prior experience in indoor nursery/school required
- Management experience required
- Teacher certification a strong plus
- Energetic and passionate about children
- Positive attitude and outgoing personality
- Cooperative management style, willing to organize and delegate to staff
- Cool-headed and practical when facing emergency situations
- Team oriented
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent multi-tasker
- Punctual, reliable and professional
- Organized and detail oriented
- Pediatric first aid/CPR certified or willing to obtain certification
